GED Preparation
YVC offers GED preparation to students interested in studying for the GED exam through individual and classroom support. Our courses are for adult students who want to improve their reading, writing, and math skills. These courses can help you pass the GED® test, earn your high school diploma, improve your employability skills or build on essential skills to prepare for college-level studies. Tuition is $25 per quarter. Classes are offered at the Yakima and Grandview campuses and learning centers in Toppenish and Ellensburg.
YVC also offers pathways to earn your high school diploma.

HOW TO SIGN UP
Enrollment is ongoing. Classes are open entry/open exit, but usually fill early in the quarter. Students pay a tuition fee of $25 per quarter.

More Information
- Individuals 19 years of age or older that have not earned a high school diploma or equivalency credential can take classes that will prepare them to take the GED exam or earn a diploma.
- Students 16-18 years old will need to bring a signed “Request for Approval to Test High School Equivalency (HSE) Certificate” from their current school district where they live. Students will need to bring this form on the day of their assessment in order to test.
- Students 16-19 years old who live in the Yakima School District should contact the Open Doors Program. Contact the Yakima School District enrollment specialist at Portable A 1120 S. 18th St. or call 509.573.5585.
Step Up to College
The Step Up to College program allows students ages 16-20 from Ellensburg, Grandview, Mabton, and Toppenish school districts to earn a high school diploma or GED.
High School+
High School+ gives individuals 21 years of age or older the opportunity to earn a high school diploma by earning high school credit in Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes.
