Novelist and memoirist Reyna Grande speaks to students as part of YVC's 2023 Diversity Series. Grande, author of the bestselling memoir “The Distance Between Us” and its sequel “A Dream Called Home,” spoke to students on both the Yakima and Grandview campuses.

STEM students, along with STEM Director Cristy Rasmussen and STEM Navigator Vanessa Tucker, pose at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) during an early April trip to Portland to attend a conference of the Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) program. Students attended sessions, networked with other LSAMP students as well as distinguished presenters. Students visited OMSI during a reception with industry leaders to learn more about job opportunities, while also attending conference sessions and networking with other LSAMP students and distinguished presenters.
