Applications are now open for Yakima Valley College’s Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Management (BASM) program for the 2025-26 academic year. The deadline to is May 31, 2025. The program is designed for individuals who have earned an applied associate degree and need a pathway to pursue a bachelor’s degree.
YVC’s BASM program combines lower-division technical and transfer courses with upper-division credits in business management resulting in a four-year degree that combines hands-on application of management practices and an understanding of management theory.
The program is designed to be convenient for individuals working a day schedule, as each class meets in the evening one time per week for two hours. Additional instruction and student interaction takes place online. Full-time students, those taking 15 credits per quarter, can finish the program in two years once prerequisites have been met. This program begins each fall and is open for full or part-time enrollment.
Josue Gutierrez, a graduate of the BASM program, feels the cohort model was key to his success.
“Being part of a cohort has helped me build meaningful relationships with classmates and instructors to expand my professional network as a businessperson,” said Gutierrez, who now works as a logistics supervisor.
