Yakima Valley College is now enrolling students for winter quarter English Language Acquisition (ELA) classes. ELA, also known as ESL, is the study of English by non- or limited English-speaking adults who want to learn English. Classes combine listening, speaking, reading and writing, with an emphasis on listening and speaking skills.
“I highly recommend this program to everyone trying to learn or improve their English,” said student Linh Heintz. “As a person who did not have much education and studying experience, I’ve learned a lot and now I am able to communicate more in English.”
Contact the YVC location you wish to attend to get the current entrance assessment schedule. You do not need an appointment, availability is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Winter quarter begins January 3. Day and night classes provide flexibility for busy, working students. Tuition is only $25 per quarter.
ELA classes are offered at three locations throughout the Yakima Valley. Call for site specific schedules. Assistance is available in both English and Spanish.
