Yakima Valley College’s CAMP (College Assistance Migrant Program) is hosting drive-through College/Resource Fairs on Wednesday, October 20 on both the Yakima and Grandview campuses. The public fairs will connect CAMP Scholars, YVC students and local high school students with representatives from colleges and universities. Participating organizations include Central Washington University, Heritage University, Washington State University, Western Washington University, Western Governors University, YVC’s Agriculture and TRIO Student Support Services programs, and People for People. Community members are invited to learn more about YVC’s College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP), funded by the U.S. Department of Education, and the range of support it provides to help migrant or seasonal farmworkers and their children successfully complete the first year of college. Students receive a stipend, free tutoring, access to technology, career development support, internship and service learning opportunities, academic success workshops and other support.
