Campus Safety & Security
Our goal is to maintain a safe and secure environment on our campus for students, staff, faculty and visitors. We ask that you assist us by being aware of your surroundings and reporting anything suspicious. The sooner we’re notified, the sooner we can respond.
To enhance campus environment by working in partnership with the campus to promote public safety and crime prevention through education and enforcement; to maintain the campus order while preserving the legal rights of all individuals; to reduce the impact of crime, and to provide effective, efficient and professional service.
The department of Safety and Security is committed to working together in a problem-solving partnership with the campus and surrounding community. We recognize our responsibility to provide superior safety and security services with the highest professional standards, to provide a safe and secure campus for the students, faculty and staff of Yakima Valley College.
Annual Security & Fire Report
Yakima Valley College’s Annual Security Report allows all interested parties to easily
access and research the college’s crime prevention and safety policies, procedures,
and guidelines that assure the safest possible college experience at YVC.
College Crime Statistics
The Yakima Valley College Campus Security Department collects reportable crime statistics as outlined in the 1990 Jeanne Clery Act from a variety of sources on and off campus. Resources used in gathering campus crime, arrest and referral statistics.
Report Sexual Harassment
Any employee, applicant, student or visitor of the College may file a complaint of
illegal discrimination. Complaints may be submitted in writing or verbally. The College
encourages the timely reporting of any incidents of discrimination
